Certificate just push you to learn .Knowledge is what you want .<br>
It also applys to IELTS ,many brush english away after getting the eligible score.<br>

IMHO, the certificates (including SCJD) are not as valuable as they were used to be in IT. The problem being that there are lots of good certified engineers with hands-on experience and many "paper" guys (people with all kinds of certificates without real IT expereince). So sadly employers do not trust certificates anymore. However it won't hurt to get one if you have time.
