I am currently looking for a Data Analyst for a permanent position with a mining
company and thought you may be able to refer someone who you think would be
suitable.

The main purpose of the position is:


To support data management, system integration and presentation of information to
allow users to make informed business decisions.

Skills required:

Extensive experience in data analysis, modeling and a good understanding of data
management techniques.
An excellent understanding of all architecture layers and their interdependencies
Extensive experience in database management
Ability to write concise technical documents (user requirement, technical
specifications)

Computing degree or equivalent.
Extensive experience with reporting and business intelligence tools (e.g. SQL
Reporting Services, SAP BW).
Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005 server including Stored Procedures and DTS
Minimum of 5-7 years related experience with at least 3 years in a data
management/analytical role
General understanding of mining processes – Exploration, Planning, Mining,
Processing, Sampling, etc.
Knowledge of Gemcom Prodtrack, Matrikon Process Net Process More or CClass would be
advantageous
