射门 shots
Greece mustered only a couple of  blocked shots and appealed desperately for a late penalty when Gekas'  shot hit a defender.
In a stunning attacking display, Messi  attempted eight shots on goal, including six on target.
South Korea attempted 7 shots on  target, with 2 goals scored.
There is something wrong when we ended  up with the same number of yellow cards as they did and yet they  committed 20 fouls compared to seven.
Heinze's goal came in the sixth minute,  when he took advantage of weak defense to power in a shot from 12 yards  off Juan Sebastian Veron's corner kick.
Ki Sung-yong's seventh-minute free kick  went over a group of players and to an unmarked Lee Jung-soo at the far  post to tap in and convert South Korea's first chance on goal.
The visual effect in sport is extremely  important. If the signal stops at the penalty kick, the viewers will  kill us.
The goal was called offside by the  referee.
The Brazilian referee issued five  yellow cards during Italy's 2-0 first-round victory over Ghana.
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez did not  comment on the red card.
乌龙球 own goals
The Dutch took the lead through a fluke  own goal in the 46th when Denmark defender Simon Poulsen headed a ball  off the back of teammate Daniel Agger and into the net, when trying to  clear a cross from Robin van Persie.
The game is 90 minutes long, but the  actual playing time is between 50 and 60 minutes.
I never saw what possession percentage  was but it had to be lopsided.

Tripping  results in a 10-yard penalty against the offending team.
铲球犯规 foul sliding/slide tackle
Afoul  sliding tackle may also constitute misconduct, resulting  in either yellow card (caution) or a red card (send off).
假摔 diving/simulation
As much as it may be unappealing to  many, diving is just apart  of the game of soccer.
拖延比赛 delay of game
Delay of  game is an action in a sports game in which a player or  team deliberately stalls the game, usually with the intention of using  the delay to its advantage.
A player is sent off and shown the red  card if he is guilty of serious foul play.
The player committed an intentional foul.
The goal was called offside  by the referee.
The player was once sent off because of  striking.
Penalty kick for hands.

A lot of people's perception of politics is boring topic. But today we have a historical moment in Australian politics. We have a first ever female prime minister in Australian history today.

To start this story, I would like to give you some background or history about Australian politics. The current in-power government is labour government. Yesterday our prime minister was Kevin Rudd. In 2006, he challenged the then labour party leader Kim Beazley for a party re-election for new party leader and he won. At that time, John Howard was the prime minister for the 3 third term ( each term has 3 years). John Howard was the liberal party leader. In November, 2007 Australia had an federal election. Australian voted for which party to be in power. Normally the party leader becomes prime minister. Kevin Rudd leaded the party to victory. It was a great victory for labour party. John Howard even lost his parliament seat, which was very embarrassing. He had no choice but retired. He is the longest serving prime minister in Australian history.

Kevin Rudd was so popular until 3 months ago. His satisfactory rate has dropped significantly. There are a lot of factors contribute to that. The main one is the ETS(Emission Trading Scheme) that has been scraped. It was one of Kevin Rudd's big election promises. But he dumped it a few moths ago. The Education Evolution Program is apparently another flop. I remember the government spent a lot of money to encourage Australian students to learn Asian languages like Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese etc. But student's enrolment was far less than expected. Also the Insulation Scheme is another big failure. During last year's GFC(global financial crisis), in order to boost the economics, the government offered free insulation for old houses. Actually I benefit from it as well because they came to do insulation for my unit for free. My insulation was worth about $1000. The cause of the flop was cause by some teenager got skilled in the fire when they were doing the insulation. The program eventually stopped. Business owners asked the government for compensation, which may cause more than 100 million dollars, due to the left over stocks. As a result, people's comments for Kevin Rudd is: promise too much and has done little. Another killer for Kevin Rudd is the super tax the government introduces recently. It causes so much debate between the government and mining companies. Because of this new policy, the share market has shrunk more than 300 points. The debate is still going on.

Australia is going to have another federal election for the new government in November. The labour party feels that if they don't change the leader, they may lose the election and become only the second one-term federal government in Australian history. Julia Gilla was the deputy prime minister in Rudd government. She has a lot of support from the party members. So she stepped up and challenged Kevin Rudd, the same as what Kevin Rudd did in 2006. Kevin Rudd pulled out and Julia Gilla becomes the party leader and Australian first female prime minister. I remember the other day I asked two young Australian girls what do they think about Julia Gilla. Rather than taking about her policies and performance, they said she has the biggest earlobe they've ever seen. How funny was that.Personally I don't like her very much. I feel she is a bit phoney. Well, actually most politicians are very phoney. I heard she kept saying she doesn't want the top job for many times but who knows what was in her mind.

Today I asked work mates :"Are you ready to have a female prime minister?". To my surprise, they said they are quite happy with Julia Gilla. If you asked me who do I vote for as prime minister, I still prefer Kevin Rudd because: 1. his government paid by installation bill 2. He speaks Mandarin. He used to be a diplomat in Beijing.

Today I am fortunate enough to witness the historical moment in Australian history. Australian polices is not boring anymore.

1.

Thou hast made me endless, such is thy pleasure. This frail vessel thou emptiest again and again, and fillest it ever with fresh life.

This little flute of a reed thou hast carried over hills and dales, and hast breathed through it melodies eternally new.

At the immortal touch of thy hands my little heart loses its limits in joy and gives birth to utterance ineffable.

Thy infinite gifts come to me only on these very small hands of mine. Ages pass, and still thou pourest, and still there is room to fill.

What is passion? My definition of passion is your long time commitment to do some something with enthusiastic regardless the return in terms of money. I see many people's passion in my zoo guide course. To be honest, I didn't have a lot of passion for animals at the beginning of the course. But now I am so touched by their passion. The passion to look after the animals, broadcast the message to protect animals and treat animals more humanely. I heard many times, when some animals die, some zoo guide volunteers cried. I got a chance to talk to the program coordinator at the lunch break during last week's training. He has library knowledge about animals He is pretty much like a animal encyclopedia. He told me he went to zoo with his grandmother since he was 5. His passion motivates him to be more hungry about animal knowledge. He learned the animals via reading books and talking to zoo keepers. He was able to talk about all the animals in the zoo when he was still in primary school. Now he is in his 50s. He is still working a volunteer in the zoo.

Coming back to English learning, since it is a life long learning process, we need to develop some passion for it to some degree. Otherwise you will lost you interest very soon. To do that, I always encourage people to become an active learner rather than a passive learner. I study other people's methodologies but in the mean time I prefer to develop a system that is more suitable for me. I use it, modify it and improve it. At the end of the day, you will see passion really makes the difference.

The search continues for a plane carrying six Australian mining executives that's gone missing in West Africa. The men from Sundance Resources were planning to inspect iron ore sites. The plane carrying 11 people including mining magnate Ken Talbot was due to arrive in the Congo on Saturday night after leaving Cameroon.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is gaining ground on Kevin Rudd as the preferred prime minister according to the latest Newspoll. Support for Mr Abbott jumped four percentage points to 37 per cent. Mr Rudd's popularity dropped three points to 46. Labor narrowly leads the Coalition on a two-party preferred basis.

At least 147 people have been killed in flooding in southern China. Heavy rain triggered landslides, cutting food and water supplies and burying almost 100 people. Almost 1.5 million people living along the river have fled their homes.

And BP has rejected accusations that it underestimated the size of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. A BP document released by a US congressman shows up to 100,000 barrels of oil could be leaking into the ocean each day.
