看到不少devops的，就是又会搞开发，又会做sys admin的。

看起来很像是那种小公司，希望一个人啥都干的。。。

这个公司我不清楚。我的感觉不太像。
但是现在是有很多devops的工作，不是因为想少招人，所以找个多面手。
而是因为工作真的需要一个想做ops (sys admin)，但是又有编程基础的人。
像我们公司现在请了一个outsource的公司，里面的人就都是这样的人。我的感觉是这种人不好找，并不多。
我们自己招的ops，都是那些只会某种os，某种工具，只会使用，不会创造的。

I have been in this sort of role for years.

应该不是要找能全包了的人。我的理解是要那种能做网管，但是能做到比较系统化，自动化一些的人。
还是属于it ops department。不需要管产品的开发，测试这些的。这些是engineering dept的事情。
技术支持，这个是support dept的，更加不相关了。不过如果是运营维护之类的support，那就相关了。

就是做运营维护，来这里前就是做通信设备商的全球技术支持，remote/on site维护客户的商用网络
到了这里反而转回去做开发写代码，还是想做回这块啊

如果你的everything是指运营的环境，不包括产品的bug, 新的feature等等产品相关的东西的话，那就是了。
应该是个小众，但是有需求且吃香的职位。

Yes, do as a inventor rather than operator. That's your value.
And you can enjoy your work as well. People needs to know what you can do, then you can turn your current role into this. please re-member the ultra tool - Python.
