About 100 firefighters took more than two hours to bring under control a fire in Eastwood shopping centre early today.
No one was injured but the contents of a furniture store and a fruit shop were destroyed.
A video of the fire, posted by BeeZeeDeeZee, has appeared on YouTube. Comments with the video described a ``seriously frightening experience’‘.
``It started with a loud explosion that shook our doors and windows pretty hard, and triggered alarms here and there,’’ the comments state.
A Fire and Rescue spokesman said, as they approached the scene, firefighters saw 20m flames above the shopping centre.
There were 35 trucks and 100 firefighters on scene, the spokesman said.
``It has taken two and a half hours to bring the fire under control,’’ he said.
The cause of the fire will now be investigated.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area near The Avenue and Rutledge St.
The Northern District Times website will have more reports and photos through the day.

大火无情。。。radio里也经常听到提醒换警报器电池的广告。。。

里面的人没事吧？大火中丧生的第一主因是浓烟导致呼吸道灼伤然后窒息而死，

所以要逃到卫生间等有水的地方用湿毛巾堵住缝隙，阻止黑烟进来，然后开窗挥舞衣物等待救援。

自己家里，除非特别训练过，否则灭火器没啥大用处。没有及时扑灭的话，小型灭火器就起不了多少作用了。
我们单位年年培训，他们也是说，如果你没有把握，还是直接撤退，然后拨打000比较安全。

２重要文件放一CASE里，到时只拿这个就行了．
３灭嘛火呀，管它呢，逃命要紧．

着火了，１保命，２记得带CASE，３安全后报火警．

水灾后我就把家里的保险文件全部扫描放网上硬盘保存了。
