Lake Entrance: ".............my friend got some net which is particularly for crab catching, so professional. actually, this made me a little bit disappointed at the beginning, coz in my mind, we should take off the shoes, wrap up the pants, search the crabs among the rocks. but later on, after the first crab got into our bucket, i found even the professional crab net couldn't satisfy our huge desire.......we tied the frame of chicken in the middle of the net, then chuck it into the water. several minutes later, when we pull the net out, we can see some greedy crabs in the trap. at last, we got more than 30 carbs as our supper............."
"..........The process of crabbing was a little bitter and sweet, our inexperience and weak preparedness contributed to our fuss. The ropes were too slender and when we pulled them from the water our hands felt hurt. In NSW the bag limit for each individual recreational fisherman is 20 crabs, the legal length is crabs with a carapace of 6cm. All females carrying eggs must be returned to the water immediately. The catching of Blue Swimmer Crabs in Intertidal Protected areas (IPAs) and in some zones within Aquatic Reserves is banned.
