At the kind invitation of @指纹 I just jot down something I learnt about Q1 residential tower in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast!

This tower is the tallest residential building in Australia, about 230 Meters above sea level! There is an observation deck on top of the 77th story, to which, the fastest lift will take you in about 43 second.

Looking down at the canal from the observation deck! It starts from the seaside of Brisbane, winding through the city, flowing past South Port, Surfers Paradise, BroadBeach, Mermaid Beach, Miami Beach, Burleigh heads, running all the way for 400+ Kilometers to the border town Tweed Heads between Queensland and New South Wales, and then reconnecting with the ocean again in Tweed Heads. Because this canal is connected with the Pacific Ocean in both ends, there are occasionally some bull sharks spotted in it.

SkyPoint climb--Did this to overcome my Acrophobia and survived the fear!
This climb is situated above the observation deck, so, this will give you the altitude 230 Meters + 98 Meters. This is the highest climb in Southern Hemisphere.
Of course, we were wearing the harness that hooked to the rail through a chain. The climb itself wasn't a challenge at all, but, you would battle with your fear of height, balance yourself against the strong gust. Other than that, it is all worthwhile. You would get to enjoy surfers paradise's skyline, banters of the tour guide, be amazed by how fast Surfers Paradise has grown over the years, and how the modern engineering has changed Surfers Paradise's landscape!
What a wonder!

The lightening rod on the tip of Q1 tower that protects the tower from the thunder has been recently repainted. Of course, the daredevil painters (Spiderman) got paid dearly dangling around the rod in the strong gust, high up in the air 230 meters + 98 Meters above the sea level. I remember talking to myself while the tour guide told us this: OMG, I can't even fancy the idea of me making this kinda living no matter how out-of-worldly dearly I could be paid for!
So, Kudos, to those daredevils!

yping, you're really incredible. I can see the confidence you had in challenging your self. I wouldn't go even near the scary giant. A big thumbs-up!!!

Just wonder who was the designer of this lying tower. They should be built higher other than taking so much land space.

See the buildings down there, dwarfed and almost disappeared among the skyscraper forest, they were some of high-rise buildings from 1950s!
