准备买房了，
查到 7/14 XXX STREET 这种一般是一块大地切开subdivide又盖了房子卖，不过今天又看到一个地址
这个地名前面的lot 是啥意思呢？Lot 426 Maddock Street, Point Cook, Vic 3030

在墨尔本西区，大家给指点一下哈多谢啦

英语字典里是这么解释的：

lot:
1.  a small area of land used for a particular purpose
2.  the buildings and the land around them where movies are made
3.  a thing or group of things that are to be sold, especially in an auction
4.  all of a number or amount that you have just mentioned
5.  a group or set of people or things; a particular group of people

炳叔这个还提醒我了，也去查了一下这个解释更像
a. A piece of land having specific boundaries, especially one constituting a part of a city, town, or block.
b. A piece of land used for a given purpose: a parking lot.

不过还是不清楚这个在买房买地的概念上和其他普通的只有门牌号的地址有何不同尼？

還沒拿到TITLE，暫時不能過戶，需要經過CONCIL的審批完成PAPERWORK後，拿到正式門牌號碼，就可以過戶了。

Lot 就是地块呀！停车场不就是parking lot么？当然也可以叫car park。你看看房产广告上的地图就明白了，特别是新划出来要开发的，都是沿街划好的一块块的地。

一般是还没有门牌号的，叫做lot。估计是新开发的地

不是的呀。地块有编号。你有了门牌号以后这个地块儿的编号还是继续存在的。我记得售房合同上好象是这么写 -- 位于多少多少号地块上的房产。
