我是PR,因为网上对于是否要把驾照在中国翻译,公证的说法不一,稳妥起见,我发了封email询问NSW的RTA,先把答复附上,希望对大家有用
Thank you for your email.
If your licence is not written in English, provide:
Your overseas licence and an official translation from the NSW Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
The RTA does not accept translations from translators accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) if you have not arranged the translation through one of these organisations. While there is no doubt as to the skills of NAATI translators, the RTA considers that only translations provided by the above organisations can ensure the integrity of the translation process.
Licence holders from another country (other than New Zealand) who come into NSW and hold a permanent visa under the Commonwealth Migration Act 1958 are allowed to drive or ride in NSW on their current overseas licences for a maximum of three months from the date the permanent visa is issued.
If you are a licence holder from New Zealand (regardless if you are a permanent or temporary resident), you must obtain a NSW driver licence within three months of residing in NSW or you must stop driving.
The most up to date and current information regarding the NSW licence application procedure for overseas licence holders can be found using the below link from the RTA website.
因此我的理解就是在NSW,持在中国翻译的驾照报名考驾照是不行的,考驾照时提供的翻译件必须是the NSW Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
理解有误之处请大家指正啊
补充说明我提的问题是Now I am planning to immigrate to AU in July 2010 .Must I have the Chinese Driver Licence notarized if I want to apply for the driver tests in Sydney?May I notarize it in China if necessary?(My Chinese driver licence was issued in Oct 2009.)

As such, you are allowed to drive in NSW on a current overseas licence for a maximum of three months after arriving in Australia
谢谢楼主的信息!加分!
RTA的人说过,入境三个月以内可以用翻译件+驾照原件+护照开车。如果没呆够三个月回国了,换个城市再来居住,那可以是三个月。
翻译件是不是可以用,要看RTA的规定。不过,RTA办事员对自家的规定并不十分清楚的情况并不希罕。在NSW,RTA规定是换考本地驾照时,要求”official translation from the NSW Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).“ NSW的rta在换考本地驾照时,不接受NAATI翻译件。参见http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licens ... tional_drivers.html
