9. People say that a child’s success is dependent on the way parents bring them up, agree or disagree?


Today, parenting has become a priority for many parents. They believe that parenting is a key determinant of children’s success. In my opinion, children’s success involves a variety of factors.

Undoubtedly, parents have significant influence on their children, which to some extent determines children’s life in the future. As we know, parents are usually the first teacher of each child from they were born. They teach their children about some basic life skills and make their children to know what is right and wrong. They also teach them about morality and values. What the most import is that parents foster their children the ability of dealing with difficulties, which plays a pivotal role in their way to success. All the above suggest that not only can parents mould a child’s character, they also prepare their children for the requisite of success.

However, parenting is not the only element that affects children’s future. Actually, schooling and social environment are equally important to children’s growth. To begin with, school creates a situation where children can acquire knowledge, where they can learn from their peers. It is widely accepted that a well-rounded education is the key to a well rounded individual, which generally leads to him/her becoming a productive citizen. Likewise, as a part of society, each person is also affected by the country’s social conditions. For example, if the country is stable and prosperous, children may increase opportunities to success. If the country has a high rate of crime, the children who lack self-control may easily develop some bad behaviors, and even commit a crime.

I think the main point is that parents not only should value family education, but also need to pay more attention to school education and social environment, so that their children can achieve more success.
