You may nominate the occupation Telecommunications Engineer if you wish to do so. We will try to assess your skills and competencies against this occupation.
However, you have to be aware that you may not get this outcome. Please note that "Science" and "Applied Science" degrees do not always contain the engineering background knowledge that is mandatory for an assessment as a Professional Engineer.
Engineers Australia will not assess your competencies against an occupational category higher than the one you have specified, but may consider assessment against a lower occupational category if you are assessed as not suitable for your nominated category.
有没有人知道engineering background knowledge具体是那些?比如哪方面的课程?
最后一段是说263311评不上有可能评低一级的313214 Telecommunications technical officer or technologist么?
Generally, assessment as a Telecommunications Engineer requires the client to hold a Bachelor degree in Telecommunications Engineering. I see your qualification is in Applied Physics, with little evidence of specific subjects in Telecommunications Engineering studied.
I have to say that it is not necessarily the case that working as a software engineer in a Telecommunication company or a telecommunications engineering environment necessarily makes a person a Telecommunications engineer.
Please do not fall into the trap of confusing Computer Network Engineering (ANZSCO 263111 - assessable by ACS) with Telecommunications Network Engineering (ANZSCO 263312 - assessable by Engineers Australia).
With your particular experience and background in Software engineering, I suggest that ACS assessment@acs.org.au may be the more appropriate assessing authority for you. Since 1 July 2010, I regret we are simply not authorised to assess in Software or Computer Engineering occupations.
