请教，关于RRV的正确解释

关于RRV的问题，，我还是有几点不太清楚：

About this visa
The purpose of this visa is to allow current or former Australian permanent residents, or former Australian citizens to re-enter Australia after travelling overseas. This visa will allow you to maintain your status as an Australian permanent resident on your return to Australia.
Important: You are advised to apply for this visa before you leave Australia if you intend to return to Australia after your current visa expires.
RRV的主要作用是允许那些现在是PR身份的人，之前是PR的人或者曾经是澳洲公民的人在出国之后能够重新回到澳洲境内。这个签证能保证你在回到澳洲的时候保持你的永久居民身份。
注意事项：如果你想要在你当前签证过期之后能再次回到澳洲境内的话，最好在离开澳洲境内之前就申请。

Who is this visa for?
This visa is for you if the travel validity period of your permanent visa has expired or is about to expire.
RRV签证主要是在你的永久签证的旅行时间已经过期或者快要过期的情况下所准备的。这个travel validity period of your permanent visa是指PR持有人所能出境的时间吗，还是PR本身的5年有效时间呢？

What does this visa let me do?
This visa allows you to leave and enter Australia as often as you want, within the validity period of the visa, while maintaining your status as a permanent resident.
RRV签证可以让你在签证有效期内，以永久居民的身份随时进出澳大利亚。

How this Visa Works
This visa lasts up to five years from the date of grant. After this time, you must obtain another Resident Return visa if you want to continue travelling to and from Australia as a permanent resident.
RRV从颁发之日起有效期5年，5年过了之后如果还想续签PR就必须拿到另一个RRV，对吗？但是在FreeOZ的坛子里面有人讲如果之前只是短登过澳洲，在PR过期之前回到澳洲境内续签RRV移民局有可能给你一个3年的RRV，这又作何解释呢？

Eligibility
If you do not meet the requirements for a five year Resident Return visa, your application will be assessed against the criteria for a three month Resident Return visa.
申请资格：如果你没有满足5年的居民回头签证，你的申请将会按照3个月居民回头签证来评估。这里是说RRV一共有2种，一种是5年的RRV，一种是3个月的RRV吗？

Five year Resident Return visa

To be eligible for a five year Resident Return visa you must be one of the following:

• an Australian permanent resident
• a former Australian permanent resident whose last permanent visa was not cancelled

要符合申请5年居民回头签证你必须符合下列要求之一：

1. 澳洲利亚永久居民

2. 曾经是澳大利亚永久居民并且最后的永久签证没有被取消，这里的取消是过期的意思吗？

You must also meet one of the following eligibility requirements.

我的VISA是2011年2月份granted的，有效期是到2016年2月份，我准备2011年4月短登悉尼，然后飞往其他国家，然后在2016年1月也就是在我的PR过期之前飞回澳洲，这样我续签的是Five year Resident Return Visa还是Three month Resident Return visa呢？如果续签的是Three month Resident Return visa是不是我的RRV有效期只有3个月呢？
续签Three month Resident Return visa一定要提供evidence吗？

这两个VISA的解释让我觉得如果我在5年之内住满不够2年的话，不管申请Five year Resident Return Visa还是Three month Resident Return visa都要提供compelling and compassionate reasons for my absence对吗？

别纠缠啦，要么拿出合理的理由；要么首次登陆后四年呆满三年一劳永逸变公民（最后一年得呆九个月，期间还可去你的加拿大呆一年）；要么叫你的配偶变公民；要么就到时看运气。
