A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Australia in a particular
discipline is not normally done with a major. For example, a Bachelor
of Engineering (Civil Engineering) usually does not include a major.
To give recognition as a Civil Engineer, we seek evidence of what we
call the underpinning knowledge of that discipline. We consider the
following to be fundamental to Civil Engineering (ASCO 2124-11);
- structural (mechanics, statics, strength of materials, stress
analysis, structural design, frame analysis, steel design, concrete
design, timber design),
- geotechnical (foundations, soil mechanics), and
- hydraulics/fluid mechanics.
The above modules make up 40% of the civil engineering course work.
To provide further comment on your course, I would need to see the
academic transcript (list of subjects and result).
