No, DIAC's program year.

你问的是澳洲的财年吧， 每年的7月1日开始到第二年的6月30日结束
这个英文一般叫 financial year 或者fiscal year

The following is extract of reply from DIAC:-

"Thank you fo your email. Your file is with the case officer for review.

Please be aware that as we approach the end of the program year we will need to monitor grant numbers very closely so as not to exceed ourdesignated quota. Applications with State or Territory nominations still remain our priority."

Understand what this implies?

ok... that means:

Because the program year is coming (1sth July), the Quota regarding the number of new granting immigrant has almost run up (i.e not many Quota left). As a result, DIAC are counting carefully the grant number so that it would not excess the Quate limit. Neverthless, the applicant who have State or Territory nominations still have high processing priority.

由于财政年度将至（7月1日），本年度的移民配额将要用完。移民局为了满足当初的承诺：削减本年度移民名额，避免超出预算，他们现在开始数绵羊。。一只一只仔细地数。如果到了限额也就不再批准签证了（7月一号前）。可是（移民局安慰地说），不管他们怎么仔细地数绵羊，属于州政府担保的绵羊依然带着优先处理的光环。。这批绵羊在限定名额内，依然会得到优先批发签证。。

No, that is literal meaning. It means in my view that the visa could/should have been granted this year, but as this program year is going to end soon, DIAC is holding now and defers grant to next program year.

Yes. You are right.. I said "Quota regarding the number of new granting immigrant has almost run up " for this program year (end at 1sth July).  So  yes.. what you said is exactly what I mean. If the Quota has been run up before 1st July 2009, then DIAC will not issue any immigration related visa before the next programe year.  Those applicant who has been evaluated to be quialify should wait to be granted until the next financial year (after 1st July 2009).

However, the DIAC do not deny the possibility that they will still grant you the Visa if it is the time for you to be granted while the Quata is still enough.

Good to see someone agrees with my interpretation. Anyone knows if DIAC is holding grants of 475 visa now?
