澳大利亚将削减高技能移民名额         英国《金融时报》记者联合报道
        澳大利亚将把高技能移民名额削减14%，以求保证本国人的就业，这是该国10年来首次此类举措。
澳大利亚联邦政府的这一计划，将把截至6月底的一年的高技能移民名额，从13.35万缩减至11.5万。此前有消息称，该国2月失业率从1月的4.8%升至5.2%。
澳大利亚移民部长克里斯•埃文斯(Chris Evans)表示：“很明显，由于全球金融危机，澳大利亚的经济状况已发生变化，因此减少今年接受的移民人数是审慎的。”
澳大利亚总理陆克文(Kevin Rudd)领导的中间偏左政府预计，到2010年中，该国失业率将达到7%。
创纪录数量的移民涌入一个快速收缩的就业市场，近年来一直是一个引发争议的问题。澳大利亚工党政府自2007年掌权以来，已两次增加移民名额。
埃文斯随后告诉澳大利亚广播公司(Australian Broadcasting Corporation)，削减移民名额将是暂时之举，一旦形势好转，移民接受人数将增加。

        Australiais set to cut back on its quota of skilled migrants by 14 per cent inan effort to safeguard jobs for Australians – the first such move in 10years.
The federal government plan will cut the quota for the year to theend of June from 133,500 to 115,000, following news that theunemployment rate increased to 5.2 per cent in February from 4.8 percent in January.
“Clearly, the economic circumstances in Australia have changed as aresult of the global financial crisis so it is prudent to reduce thisyear's migration intake,” said Chris Evans, immigration minister.
The centre-left government of Kevin Rudd, the prime minister, expects unemployment to reach 7 per cent by mid-2010.
Record migration into a fast-shrinking job market have been acharged issue in recent years. The Labor government has increased theintake twice since it came to power in 2007.
Mr Evans later told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that thecut would be temporary and the intake would be increased onceconditions improved.
Under the new quota, the permanent skilled migration programme willbar entry to bricklayers, plumbers, carpenters and electricians.“That's where we've seen a drop-off in demand [and] some majorredundancies,” Mr Evans said.
