It has been around 5 months since I first owned a server. I found it is not a big deal to buy a used server. Just treat it like a pc and all the knowledge about pc can apply to server too. The only thing need to be take care is not to buy too old server. Five years old server is ok

I bought a dell 2700w for my used server and the experience is great. I thought why not get one for my desktop and I bought manufactured date june 2011 apc ups for nz$50 today. The battery is 18 months old. And I am using it now.
