if I could vote, I would vote labor for this reform
I am wondering what would happen if the reform is passed and the coalition takes over in next election.
Many of you will have read with some disquiet the Federal Government’s announcement on Saturday that it will be making more than $2.8 billion worth of cuts to the university sector in order to 'free up' funds for the Gonski school reforms. This is a shortsighted move on the part of a government that claims education as one of its highest priorities. It is an absurdity to seek to provide students with a better education at school by providing a worse experience at university.
We are taking a strong stance on this issue but it is difficult to be optimistic about our chances.

Take it easy, funding to universities would increase, just a little bit slower with the efficiency dividend.
I could not understand the word of efficiency dividend at the beginning and believed the funding(in total) to universities would be cut
actually it means the the existing funding will be cut at the declared rate, but it doesn't mean the government would not add new funding(maybe new project etc), and in total funding to universities would see increase.
The rate declared is actually just higher than expected, the normal rate is around 1.25% on all government sectors.

but the problem is money, where is the money?
I believe under the ALP government, we'll never have enough money.
