Today, with the process of globalization, the world has been shrinking into a global village. As a result, business transaction and cultural communication between countries are increasing at an amazing rate. Some people believe this trend brings enormous benefits to us. While others worry about that it may result in the loss of national identities.

There are many reasons for people to believe that this phenomenon brings great positive effects. For one thing, as a main way of modern business, international trade has greatly promoted the development of world economy. It is not surprise for us to see that today products may be designed in one country but manufactured in another country, and food like vegetables and meat may travel thousands of miles from farms to consumers. Thanks to international trade, people can enjoy wonderful lives throughout history. For another, the increasing cultural communication between different countries is a good way to promote mutual understanding, which is essential for national collaboration, and resolving dispute.

However, some people are concerned about its side effects. One of the biggest problems is that it causes the loss of national identities. The main reasons for their views are obvious. Take the language for example, in order to do business and keep good relationship other countries, international language like English is being widely used all over the word, which may lead to some lesser-known languages endangered or even go extinct. And cultures from western countries are flooding into our nation, which may cause conflicts with indigenous one.

Taking the both side into consideration, I think it is a positive development for the entire world. The more contact between countries is, the more development of each country will be. As for the problems caused by international contact, we should take active measures to tackle it rather than shut our countries off.
