Open Water Course After exploring several options for students who registered interest in diving at O’Week, the club has the following deal on offer to get you trained.
To book a place on the course you will need to join the club ($10 for students) and pay a deposit – this can be paid on Thursday nights at the club or via internet banking if your already a club member. Please ask for further details if you wish to use this option.
The course will give you SSI certification which is internationally recognised. You will need to fill out a medical form prior to commencing the course. Should there be any “yes” answers on the form you will be required to have a diving medical completed.
Dates: 12th and 13th April 6:30-10pm Theory and pool sessions
14th & 15th 9am – 3pm Ocean dives
The course includes 4 shore dives at Noarlunga and 2 boat dives to the HA Lumb and Stanvac reef. The Lumb is in my opinion one of the best dive sites in SA. You can see wobbygongs, octopus, rays, blue devils, blue swimmer crabs, cuttlefish and an array of other fish as well as dive on 2 shipwrecks, and play on underwater bicycles and wheelchairs.
This course will be run by Southern Diving at Christies Beach. The club will try to arrange car pooling for those members who need a lift. Wetsuits, BCD’s, regulators and tanks will be provided for the course. You will need your own mask, snorkel, booties and fins (available from dive centre for $250).
Cost $395
